Steve Fossett went missing somewhere over the Sierra Nevada in September 2007. Many surviving pilots who have crashed in the mountains report how disorientated they are.
Also known as 'The Lost Patrol' disappeared off the coast of Florida. The Mariner, a rescue aircraft, also disappeared; not a plane or person has ever been found.
